The bachelor of fine arts degree with a major in Theater provides a liberal arts education and pre-professional training in a comprehensive program that uniquely combines the study of the arts, humanities and sciences with exploration of the principle areas of theater practice.
Led by experts in drama and theatre research, professional performers, theatre makers, and industry specialists, this program  is designed to prepare you for a range of careers in drama, theatre, and the cultural industries and ensure that students graduate with a sound humanistic and experiential base for further pursuits in education and in life beyond the university.
The program is divided into four distinct and rigorous phases of learning, each year consecutively building upon the last. All students take the same core classes in the first two years, which are also the core classes for Diploma in Theater and Associate Degree in Theater. The courses in their emphasis begin in the junior year. The junior and senior year year can be thought of as the skills courses year where students begin taking skills courses in their relative emphasis.
The comprehensive program in theater combines a critical study of theater with experiential practice in one or more of its component parts. Students explore the various areas of theater to build a foundation for future creative work.
We also provide opportunities for you to perform, create and participate in a variety of performances, trips, and events with a range of partners including interdisciplinary students, professional artists and performers, and external organizations.
